About

Meet Leroy

My name is Larry Nieman. I was born and raised in Florida. I acquired the nickname “Leroy" in high school and it stuck. I proudly served in the Army for 8 years. I married my high school sweetheart, Christine. We have 3 adult kids, Jesse, Taylor, and Holden who are all grown and now raising their own families. So far they've given us 4 granddaughters.

I started this business to be able to follow my passion for art and guns. I enjoy taking my customer’s vision for their project and turning it into reality. I love seeing my customer's face when they first see the final product.

I am currently operating part-time due to a full-time career with Ring Power, so project times vary depending on my work load.

Thanks for your interest in Leroy’s Custom Coatings, I can’t wait to work on a project with you!

Process

Meticulous attention to detail

Each project is approached with attention to detail and precision. Here's a look at the process I follow on every project:

1.

Disassembly

Each item to be coated is broken down into individual components.

2.

Degreasing & Gas Out

Parts are soaked in acetone and baked to remove any residual oils.

3.

Sandblasting

The parts are individually sandblasted with a fine media to promote adhesion of the coating.

4.

Coating Application

The Cerkote ceramic coating is sprayed onto the parts, typically in one to two wet coats to achieve the desired thickness of 0.5-1mil.

5.

Curing

The coated parts are cured in an oven, with parts cured at specific temperatures and time intervals according to their material.

6.

Reassembly

After cooling, the coated parts are reassembled into the final product.
